First Man on the Moon Anniversary Silver Coin

Pobjoy Mint is pleased to announce a striking new issue on behalf of the Isle of Man to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the 1st Man on the Moon.

1st Man on the Moon Coin Specifications:

Metal Diameter Weight Issue Limit
Proof Sterling Silver – 1 Crown 38.60mm 28.28gms 10,000
Proof Fine 999.9 Gold – 1/64 Crown 11.00mm 1/2gms 5,000
Unc. Cupro Nickel – 1 Crown 38.60mm 28.28gms Unlimited

We know a lot more about space now than we did 40 years ago and satellites and spacecrafts have returned footage to us that show us the surfaces of Venus, Mars, and other planets, but the Moon Landing from 1969 is still probably the most important moment in space history as it showed we could travel and land on the Moon successfully and people could walk on its surface.

The design on the reverse of the coin is an image of an Astronaut on the Moon standing next to the American Flag. The wording 40th Anniversary of 1st Man on the Moon features in the surround. The obverse of the coin bears a fine effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS FSNAD.

Available in Proof Sterling Silver, Proof Fine 999.9 Gold and Uncirculated Cupro Nickel and being carefully struck four times to produce a glorious finish, the design is sculpted in striking relief. To view this coin visit www.pobjoy.com.
